Remember Mel Gibson’s role in the movie, What Women Want? He was able to hear what they were thinking. It turned out to be quite a surprise for Mel. Have you ever wondered what your clients and prospects are thinking? Look no further than the 2015 Zywave survey which included over 1,000 employers. They asked numerous questions about what they want and what they expect from their broker. Here are a few highlights from the survey:

  • 75% want compliant plan documents from their broker.
  • 65% want compliance updates.
  • 89% look for prompt and effective services in a timely manner when selecting a broker.
  • 70% would leave their broker if the item above is not met.
  • 70% need regular communication.
  • 77% would select a broker if he or she has the ability to challenge or negotiate renewals.
  • 17% have changed brokers over the last three year.

Does any of that surprise you? There continues to be a great opportunity for benefits professionals to meet the growing demand for information from prospects and clients.
